Bird’s Eye – Prudential Center under construction

I’m starting a new category today: is called “Bird’s Eye”. The objective of this new session is to show aerial views from US cities from my archives of slides. And to begin, let’s see this scan from one 6×6 slide from Boston.

This amazing photo from 1963 shows the Prudential Center area under construction. Apparently the picture was taken from one of the top floors of the Prudential Tower (also under construction and completed in 1964).

Regarding the street, we note that many buildings of Boylston Street are still there. In the middle of the photo is the building of Hotel Lenox (now called Lenox – The Original Boutique Hotel) and in the top of the photo the Old South Church and the Copley Square.

Liked the photo ? So leave comment, and make me happy! 🙂
